Anahi Carrasco Rodriguez

Anahi.jpg

I'm from a plate of enchiladas

From beans and rice

I'm from the hot steam

Where it would always feel cozy

I'm from the eagle

The rose bush

Whose long gone limbs I remember

As if they were my own.

I’m from loteria and laughter

From sister and daughter

I’m from cleaning to adventure

And from trying new things.

I’m from being respectful and to talking more

And tengo, tengo la camisa negra

I’m from dressing up on Guadalupe's birthday

I’m from San Jose and Durango

From hearing bandas downtown to dancing with people

In my head where everything lays.
